Cushing's syndrome: hypertrophied left adrenal gland demonstrated by venography (with normal venogram for comparison).
Film (a) was obtained prior to venous sampling and shows the venographic appearances of one of a pair of hypertrophied adrenal glands. The tip of the catheter is in the left adrenal vein and contrast medium has filled small veins within the enlarged gland. A segment of the left renal vein has been partially outlined. The appearances should be compared with those of a normal-sized left adrenal gland (b).
